Serves 1 serving
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup water or unsweetened & cooled black tea
- 1/2 cup coconut milk (or any favorite unsweetened milk)
- 2 Tbls. chia seeds
- 1 Tbls. hemp seeds
- 2 large dates, soaked in water for 15-30 minutes
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
- 1/8 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla or almond extract
- 1-2 handfuls of ice cubes
- Optional: unsweetened whipped cream or coconut whip
Directions
- Assemble. Add all ingredients to a blender, in order listed in ingredients, except for ice.
- Blend. Blend on high until completely smooth. Taste to see if it needs more sweetener, spices or liquid.
- Blend again. Add ice and blend again.
- Serve. Pour into a glass and serve. Optional to top with whipped cream and a cinnamon stick to be fancy!
Notes
- This doubles or triples easily for more servings.
- Water is delicious, but using the black tea as liquid makes the flavor more robust.
