Serves 1 serving

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup water or unsweetened & cooled black tea
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk (or any favorite unsweetened milk)
  • 2 Tbls. chia seeds
  • 1 Tbls. hemp seeds
  • 2 large dates, soaked in water for 15-30 minutes
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1/8 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla or almond extract
  • 1-2 handfuls of ice cubes
  • Optional: unsweetened whipped cream or coconut whip

Directions

  1. Assemble. Add all ingredients to a blender, in order listed in ingredients, except for ice.
  2. Blend. Blend on high until completely smooth. Taste to see if it needs more sweetener, spices or liquid.
  3. Blend again. Add ice and blend again.
  4. Serve. Pour into a glass and serve. Optional to top with whipped cream and a cinnamon stick to be fancy!

Notes

  1. This doubles or triples easily for more servings.
  2. Water is delicious, but using the black tea as liquid makes the flavor more robust.
