Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1/4 cup almond flour
  • 1 cup favorite low sugar BBQ sauce (we love Primal Kitchen brand)
  • 1 can pineapple rings
  • 1/2 red onion, sliced into rings
  • lettuce, cilantro, green onions for topping
  • 1 avocado, sliced for topping
  • 4-5 favorite buns (ideally one with high fiber like Hero brand)

Directions

  1. Mix together chicken and almond flour and form into patties. Add more almond flour if too sticky.
  2. Heat grill to medium-high and add patties. Brush some teriyaki sauce onto the side facing up while burgers cook 4-5 minutes. Flip, brush again and cook another 3-5 minutes.
  3. While burgers cook or after removing from grill, add onion and pineapple rings, brush with sauce, cook just 1-3 minutes per side and brush again on other side.
  4. Assemble your burgers with toppings and avocado, and more sauce as needed.
