Serves 1

Ingredients

  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 Tbls. dried elderberries or Goji berries
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 Tbls. apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1-2 tsp. raw honey
  • 1/8th tsp. ground or fresh ginger

Directions

  1. Simmer & Steep. Get water boiling then turn down to a low simmer in a small pot and add dried berries & cinnamon stick. Let simmer 10-15 minutes then turn off heat and let steep another 5-10 minutes.
  2. Strain. Strain the tea through a fine mesh strainer into mug.
  3. Mix & Enjoy. Add remaining ingredients in desired amounts and stir well until honey is dissolved. Take a big intale of the steam as you enjoy.

Notes

  1. If the initial simmer process is too long or you cannot access the dried berries, use a pre-made elderberry tea mix such as Yogi Immune & Stress Tea or Traditional Medicinals Immune Zoom as the base tea instead.
  2. You can easily double or triple the initial tea batch and save the base tea in the refrigerator to be re-heated and prepared later and save yourself the simmer time.
